Welcome to the SLOOP website. SLOOP is software for the simulation of the operation of offshore oil and gas fields. SLOOP2 was the name of a Joint Industry Project JIP funded by a number of major oil companies, and which played a key role in the development of the software.Simulations of offshore energy production and transportation are used to; optimise and refine strategies, demonstrate feasibility, maximise NPV, select robust development options, identify financially effective solutions, test concepts, test operating strategies, inform shipfloater design, and inform longterm charter negotiations.The SLOOP software was developed by, and is available from, BMT Fluid Mechanics Limited. The Company also performs consultancy projects using the software, investigating energy developments on behalf of offshore operators.
