Origin Energy Origin said that the company, in a joint venture JV with ConocoPhillips, has increased the JVs reserve base by 52 during the last 12 months after drilling new wells, Bloomberg reported Ju. 31. Proved and probable reserves at the JVs coalbed methane acreage were increased to 6.9 tcf, from 4.5 tcf a year earlier. The reserve increase confirms the project is capable of supporting a multipletrain LNG project, said Grant King, managing director of Origin. The Australia Pacific LNG venture is among four other projects planning to tap Queenslands coalbed methane gas reserves.
